Or, Star Trek Fuckin Online!
I've never played an MMO before, but after watching some videos of the beta followed promptly
by a viewing of the latest Star Trek movie, I bought STO. And while it took some time for
me to wrap my head around how that kind of game works, it's really opened up and I can see
how epic it can get. The last thing I did was take on a bunch of Orions with two other
Starfleet players and kicked ass. I got to divert all powers to the front shields! ME!
I did that!
I did not, however, buy any of the subscription plans...yet. The lifetime one is out of the
question. While the idea of never having to pay a fee to play this game again, $240 is just
too damn much to blow on a game that I've barely had a chance to play. And $120 is too much
for the yearly sub. I'm guessing the first month comes with purchasing the game because it
has yet to yell at me about not having paid more than the cost of the product through Steam.
But I guess we'll see when the floodgates officially open.
This will be an interesting journey, though so far no one's a complete shithead. So that's a
plus. And here's hoping I don't get hopelessly addicted to the point where that lifetime fee
looks like it was cheap.
Oh God I hope.
